About Shawn R. Gee

Shawn R. Gee is a writer and storyteller who is committed to creating clean and engaging books for youth, young adults, and mature audiences. 

Several years ago, while he was working in Boise, Gee had to make a five-hour commute from his home-town in southeastern Idaho several times a week. In an effort to keep himself awake at the wheel, he would think up stories for potential books. Each story is unique, and no two fit into the same genre.

As the father of eight children, Gee keeps up on what his kids are reading. After looking at some of the books that his sons were reading, Gee said he knew he could provide better entertainment than what his boys were getting, and he started writing.​

“I hate what’s happened in our culture where the hero isn’t good,” Gee said. “They don’t have strong morals. Really what I’m going for is heroes that my kids could look up to. Stories that are engaging, and not just mind-numbing drivel.”​

Writing realistically while keeping the subject matter clean is a struggle that most authors don’t bother to deal with. However, Gee wants to make sure that his books are known for being sources of good, wholesome entertainment.

“I’m an author that you can trust your kids to,” Gee said. “There’s not going to be bad language. There’s not going to be vulgarity. The stories will be engaging and exciting.”
